RIAA Likes Piracy

So check out what the confirmation page of the RIAA's www.p2plawsuits.com site tells you when you finish paying them.

Last sentence. Unbelievable.

Any chance you could describe the settlement terms?

Specifically, were you required to admit guilt?

oOutrageous...the RIAA better enjoy these lawsuits while it can, people are starting to switch over to encrypted file sharing solutions that keep their exchanges out of the radar, GigaTribe being the best example ( http://www.gigatribe.com ).

"Looking forward to future business together"?

Exsqueeze me??

That's as sleazy as saying: "Nice music collection you've got there. Would be a shame if something... happened to it."

Stop feeding the monster. Buy only used CDs. No new CDs. No music from iTunes.

Buy CDs from the band.

I think you're over reacting, obviously they are using a pre-built software for handling the transactions and that's probably the default ending phrase.

Has anyone seen the tab title: P2P_Reciept. Doesn't sound like something even the RIAA would misspell.

I smell a scam...

Ubuntu: the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.

heh

Anyone stupid enough to pay deserves it. Thank you for furthering the RIAA's business model, and for increasing the likelihood that I will one day receive a 'chance to settle' from them, even though I don't and never have participated in any file-sharing or illegal downloads. Because you and every sucker like you who pays is too cowardly to fight, I will end up on the pointy end of the stick. Thanks a lot.

Well, the misspelling makes it seem fake, but if that's real....The RIAA has reached a new low.
